We thought we’d share with you our favourite exercises designed to tone the body. The following exercises are simple enough to be carried out at home with minimal equipment required. So there’s no excuses, start toning up today!
BENEFITS: These help will help flatten your tummy, and give super strong abs. Control your muscles throughout for best results.
Lie on your back on the floor with arms and legs stretched out so your body’s in a line. In one movement, lift your torso and legs up as if you’re trying to touch your toes. Keep your legs straight throughout. Pause, then lower back slowly to the starting position.
BENEFITS: This move will tighten up the full length of your core stomach muscles, while targeting the muscles at the sides - the love handles!
Lie on the floor with your arms bent and fingers touching the sides of your head. Lift your shoulders using your abdominal muscles and twist your body so your left elbow meets your right knee. Switch sides, bringing your right elbow towards your left knee.
BENEFITS: Plank touches will help stabilise your spine and protect your lower back while working your entire stomach.
Start in a press-up position, forming a straight line from shoulders to ankles. Bring your right knee towards your right elbow. Pause, then straighten the right knee so you’re back in the start position. Repeat, bringing your left knee to your left arm, and continue alternating.
BENEFITS: They help tone your upper thighs, whilst also providing you with a cardio work-out
Jog on the spot, holding a medicine ball close against your chest. Bring each knee up to touch the medicine ball.
Get into plank position with your hands resting on the ball.
Quickly bring one knee towards your chest and then back. Continue alternating legs to complete one set.
For optimal results complete 3 sets of each exercise.
Don’t forget to stretch it out after your session to avoid injury!
